Sustainable Social Housing

Rothwell Plumbing services have delivered plumbing heating & MVHR package to 23 residential properties for social rent for our client Castlemead Group LTD. The properties are aimed at small families, couples and active older people wishing to remain in the local area. All properties have been designed to achieve greater U-Values and EPC A.

What we have installed

RPS have delivered Vaillant Air Source Heat Pumps & cylinders across the properties alongside and Envirovent Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems, delivering an efficient, low-carbon heating and ventilation solution.

What are ASHPs & MVHRs?

ASHPs extract heat from the outside, warms it up and send it into the home providing heating and hot water. ASHPs are most efficient when they are keeping the house at a stable temperature.

MVHR systems extract the stale air from rooms whilst drawing in fresh air from outside keeping indoor air fresh and free from moisture. Before the old air is pushed out it passes through a heat exchanger that transfers the warmth into the incoming fresh air.

How do these work together?

Using these together reduces the amount of work the heat pump needs to do keeping the building at a comfortable heating level and resulting in lower energy bills and a moisture free home.

Benefits

The successful installation of the ASHP and MVHR systems means that fossil fuel dependence has been eliminated. The combined system reduces condensation and mould creating a healthier living environment, with lower operational costs for residents.
