RPS was appointed by Castles & Coasts to remove the existing communal plant heating and replace with independent air source heat pumps for each property at Hadleigh Court. The communal plant was reaching the end of its serviceable life and rather than replace like for like, Castles and Coasts took the opportunity to rethink the system and give the residents more control over their heating.
Hadleigh Court is a supported housing scheme for over 55s, comprising of 26 one bedroom apartments over 2 floors. The residents benefit from community activities and onsite facilities including:
· Coffee Mornings
· Communal Garden
· Hair Salon
· Communal Kitchen
Hadleigh Court remained fully operational throughout the project. Communication, Planning and conduct were huge factors in the successful delivery of the installations. Engineers worked closely with residents and site staff to minimise disruption, treating all homes and residents with respect and leaving the site clean and tidy at the end of each day.
RPS installed 26 × Ideal Air Source Heat Pumps – One for each flat and 2 × Ideal Air Source Heat Pumps for communal areas.
RPS successfully completed the install and every home at Hadleigh Court now has its own independent, controllable low carbon heating and hot water system.

“I would like to take a moment to thank you and your team for the excellent workmanship carried out over the past few months at Hadleigh Court. They were always polite, respectful to residents and their homes, and conducted themselves in a very professional manner. The quality of the work has been excellent, and it has been clear that they take pride in what they do. Despite working here since October/November, they consistently ensured the area was cleaned up properly at the end of each day before leaving. It has been greatly appreciated by the residents to have such a considerate and hardworking team carrying out the work.”
