It’s a status that has to be earned. Accreditation follows a rigorous technical, quality and compliance assessment, including training and the assessment of live installations against Octopus’s own performance standards. Only a small number of installers across the country hold it. For us, it’s confirmation of something we’ve built over more than three decades: that getting a heat pump right comes down to the team that fits it.

The Cosy is a smart, UK-designed air source heat pump, but a heat pump is only ever as good as its installation. Accreditation means our customers get the innovation of Octopus’s technology, fitted and supported by RPS engineers who have been independently assessed and approved to install it.
For the social housing providers we work with, it adds another layer of assurance to a track record that already includes MCS, TrustMark, Gas Safe and NICEIC accreditation, and 35+ years of delivery across the North of England.
On a recent Octopus Cosy installation delivered for Wigan Council, the resident told us:
"They were good, hard-working and respectful. They kept my home clean and tidy and showed me how to use my new heating. I’m happy with the work"
Lynn, Resident
That’s the standard the accreditation is built on, repeated across every job: a system sized properly, pipework run cleanly, the home left tidy, and the resident shown how everything works before we leave.
The UK needs hundreds of thousands of heat pumps a year to hit its targets, and the quality of installation is what will decide whether those systems deliver. As an Octopus Cosy Accredited Installer, RPS is ready to help social housing providers move homes off gas at scale,” with the standards, accreditation and directly employed teams to back it up.
